Walnut Cheddar Pastries
Ingredients and Preparation
- In a bowl combine
- 1½ cup sifted flour
- ¾ cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne
- Add
- 1 stick of butter cut into bits and knead the mixture until it is smooth.
- Chill for 1 hour
- Roll it ¼ inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
- Press
- finely chopped walnuts into the dough and
- cut into rounds with a 1½ inch cutter
- arrange the rounds on baking sheets and
- bake in a preheated moderatly hot oven (375°) for 15 minutes, or until they are golden.
