Note Well. From the Latin no·ta be·ne.

Having no clue what pops meant by "NB" I looked it up at http://dictionary.reference.com. There are quite a few definitions for this abbreviation -- did I get the right one pop?

"N. B." - might be more exact

Yes.

If I were referencing the element niobium I would most likely not abbreviate and I would use lower case b - "Nb".
