I know both the Brat and Kathia will be excited to see:
-- NatePerryThistle - 15 Dec 2006
NO WAY!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I'm so excited I have goosebumps. Guess what we'll be doing that night. Brat, you have to come down.
Now I'm going to watch the preview again.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 15 Dec 2006
YAY!!!! I'm so excited I'm jumping up and down. I am SO coming down for that.
-- ParisaZolfaghari - 15 Dec 2006
Falling Behind
Where is Nate's christmas list? Ahem.
-- ParisaZolfaghari - 13 Dec 2006
I know. Can we say slacker? The sad part is Santa already brought all kinds of HUGE presents for him.
Humbly, I think my Christmas list is inspired this year.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 14 Dec 2006
NateXmasList06 is up. It may seem a bit like last year's list, but really, it is new.
Yes, Lovie, your list is quite nice.
-- NatePerryThistle - 15 Dec 2006
Did you remember to set your clocks back 10 minutes last night? Then be sure to go for 20 minutes this evening. See: PTLocoTime
Also note that "Spring Ahead" will actually start during the season commonly called "Winter" beginning next year.
Oh no. I'd thought PTLocoTime went the way of the dodo.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 25 Oct 2006
Christmas Lists!
My list is refurbished! Check out FloydzWishList.
-- FloydPerryThistle - 26 Sep 2006
Wow! Christmas came early! Thanks Ben and Mary for a San Francisco Zoo membership so Joy and I can take Sid to see the monkeys many, many times! Listing pays off
-- FloydPerryThistle - 03 Oct 2006
Did you all notice that Diego has his Christmas list up?? Maybe it's not too early after all.
-- ParisaZolfaghari - 29 Aug 2006
I have had my Christmas list up since last Christmas... never bothered removing it. I just updated it since I bought for myself the cast iron pan that I had listed before. Also, my birthday is coming up, so you never know. Having a wishlist can come in handy!
-- DiegoValderrama - 29 Aug 2006
Shoot!! I need to get on it. I have to compile a whole new list.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 31 Aug 2006
Me too. Oh, and do I have things in mind. (well... one thing..okay maybe two).
-- ParisaZolfaghari - 31 Aug 2006
This just in: Perry-thistle.net activity at a(n all-time) low! Is there no time to play on Perry-thistle? What is the world coming to? Is there no news, no interesting tidbits, no incredible--or horrible--movies to tell about? This not-quite-warphead remains flabbergasted as to where the denizens of Perry-thistle are.
-- ParisaZolfaghari - 24 Aug 2006
Yeah... what happened?!? Oh, I've got that new job keeping me busy. What's your excuse (except for Diego who has recently updated DiegoTravelTips, and The Brat who has obviously sounded off already)?
-- NatePerryThistle - 25 Aug 2006
There's no excuse for me.
OhI finally got someone to watch that scary movie I've been wanting to see with me. The one where someone keeps calling the babysitter and then she finds out he's calling from within the house.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 25 Aug 2006
Was it good? Was it bad? Is it going on DontWatchThis? Don't leave us hanging, woman!
-- ParisaZolfaghari - 25 Aug 2006
It was pretty good for the movie it was. I mean, there were things that I would have improved, and I wish the bad guy were more developed--like I didn't understand why he was stalking young women and then killing the family they were babysitting. And I didn't get how exactly he was killing them. There was no murder weapon, so does that mean he used his hands? But I was definitely scared. I shrieked once and scared Tigger, Suzie's cat, who was perched over my shoulders. (There was no gore either--purely psychologically scary.)
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 25 Aug 2006
Ooo. If only I was there.
-- ParisaZolfaghari - 25 Aug 2006
Congrats Nate!
The family of brilliant Web engineer, Nate Perry-Thistle, are thrilled with his announcement of his association with DinnerBroker? in SF. Good for them! Good for you, Nate! Good for us! Cheers from Camp Augustine.
-- JoyPerryThistle - 14 Jul 2006
Some time ago Kathia added a few movies worth watching to WatchThis. I added a couple and also created a DontWatchThis companion page.
Now all we need is a list to keep track of those movies we'd like to see. We can never remember the titles when we're at the video store. However, recent release "On a clear day" is high on our list.

Bren aka Brenda Roberts is moving today to get closer to the forest and away from the heat of Sacramento. The children have flown the coop, so I can get up and go. Penn Valley bound, so I'll be in touch soon!
-- BrendaRoberts - 28 May 2006
Cool!
-- FloydPerryThistle - 28 May 2006
The town motto of Penn Valley is "where the women are pretty and the horses are prettier."
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 28 May 2006
Actually lovie, I believe the town motto is "lifestyle with opportunity." Yes, I know you may choose to believe otherwise.
I look forward to seeing you in the foothills again Brenda!
-- NatePerryThistle - 29 May 2006
Are you sure? Because I thought for certain you said it was "where the women are pretty and the horses are prettier."
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 29 May 2006
Snicker, snicker, neighing noises. Now I see, just long faced women can live there! Or is it just ya gotta look like a horse? Don't see too many horses unless I go up the back way. They look pretty bored, just standing there eating, or it is sleeping? But it's all good, Everything is very pretty to look at!

Two Weeks
Cast your mind back a couple of weeks -- here on the front door I slipped into a bit of rant about JavaScript? v. security. It's time once again to recommend NoScript?, but I'm going to let the pro's do it this time:
http://isc.sans.org/diary.php?storyid=1344
Expect another update for Firefox to come soon.
-- NatePerryThistle - 19 May 2006
And it is terrific I enjoyed the read hugely. The plot was fun, the characters fantastic, and the flow of words from this "bright and shining new talent" so fabulous that a new niche has been carved in the halls of literature.
-- FloydPerryThistle - 04 May 2006
Wow. Kate is blushing.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 04 May 2006
I've got my autographed copy, do you?
I'll particularly draw your attention to my favorite parts so far: the dedication and acknowledgments. But then, I haven't actually read the book yet -- I've promised to do so, and so I shall. It will be my first "romance" and the first fluff (and I don't think Kate will mind me saying so) I've read since last May's SayulitaWedding.

Firefox Update Part Deux (er... Trois)
Time to make sure you've got version 1.5.0.3 (Help -> Check for Updates).
This time the critical issue is more of a crash that could be "abused" though it still relates to JavaScript?.
Gosh, I feel a rant coming about the balance between the need for JavaScript? and security. A client-side scripting language is needed to power Ajax applications (that's Web 2.0 speak for a collection of technologies that date back almost a decade). Personally, I use the NoScript extension to severly limit how much JavaScript? I allow -- but then, I'm often enabling the scripts for sites that I would like to actually use and I'm okay with that, not all of you may be.
-- NatePerryThistle - 04 May 2006
Firefox Update
Fixes some critical issues in the handling of JavaScript? and CSS ("letter-spacing" to heap overflow?).
Make sure you're running 1.5.0.2 (it's an auto-update if you're running 1.5), and do check for extension updates as well.
-- NatePerryThistle - 14 Apr 2006
and Proud Papa has posted more pictures...
-- FloydPerryThistle - 10 Apr 2006
Well, OK so it's actually been two teeth for a week or so with more obviously on the way. And she is trying hard to get upright on her feet - seemingly intent on skipping the crawling bit.
-- FloydPerryThistle - 25 Apr 2006
Uh-Oh
It's time to "Spring ahead" and we totally blew it about PTLocoTime! Where does the time go?
-- FloydPerryThistle
and now - Mary!
Happy Birthdays, you guys! (Go ahead, click mr. smiley)
-- FloydPerryThistle - 12 Mar 2006
We appear to have had what I would think is an automated reconnaisance effort to see if TWikiGuest allows editing. Several <u style="display: none;"> </u> statements were added to the tops of pages by TWikiGuest. For those not well versed in CSS the style="display: none;" statement hides the content from view.
A search for "<u style" twiki reveals rather a lot of these exist on other TWiki sites.
I've killed the password so that account will no longer work. Sigh...
-- NatePerryThistle - 05 Mar 2006
you're my hero.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 06 Mar 2006
Are you making lots and lots of room for birthday fun? Or just cleaning house?
Busy signal. Busy signal.BUSY SIGNAL! Why the heck haven't we installed googletalk for pops? It's so frustrating not being able to reach them.
Where are you people? We're trying to invite you to dinner.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 10 Feb 2006
And it's so pretty. But, no, the content isn't quite done yet.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 06 Feb 2006
Nice! Congratulations love.
-- NatePerryThistle - 07 Feb 2006
Kudos go out to my love, though, because he's a bricolaging, submit-forming crazy man. AND he made me a side column.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 07 Feb 2006
Very nice - congratulations to you both!
-- FloydPerryThistle - 07 Feb 2006
YAY!! After days of checking, it's up! Yaaaaaay kati. err. kate.
-- ParisaZolfaghari - 07 Feb 2006
Ahead of the Game
Who got the latest version of Firefox before Nate even knew it existed? That's right--yours truly.
-- KathiaZolfaghari - 02 Feb 2006
Wowsers! It's true, Firefox 1.5.0.1 is available and this release fixes the first low risk security issue that was publicly disclosed (overlong page title causes hang on subsequent startups) and "other security holes not yet disclosed (as of 2006-02-01)" and fixes a number of bugs.
-- NatePerryThistle - 02 Feb 2006
"Other security holes not yet disclosed" turns out to be a number of highly critical issues. Do make sure that your browser has told you that it is updated, or check under the Help -> Check for Updates menu.

Yeah. I can't send emails. what's up with that?
It says "BAD command unrecognized: FROM"
-- ParisaZolfaghari - 19 Jan 2006
But wait... the emails actually go but the nutsy squirrel doesn't know it and doesn't put a copy in "Sent" BAD SQUIRREL!! Nate says somebody (KrisSkrinak) "improved" SquirrelMail. I reckon we'll see an ugrade soon...
-- FloydPerryThistle - 20 Jan 2006
No, no. I said that the only change I could think of that might have affected SquirrelMail was the addition of an upgraded XML library (for the operating system) that Kris installed on the box (right before you started reporting the error).
Yes, I'll dig in and see what I can do for y'all.
-- NatePerryThistle - 20 Jan 2006
I've upgraded us to SquirrelMail 1.4.6-rc1 and it's working. Looks like this was actually related to a PHP upgrade...
Do let me know if you find problems with the software.
-- NatePerryThistle - 20 Jan 2006
Yay Nate! And a big apology to the kind and generous Mr. Skrinak.
-- FloydPerryThistle - 20 Jan 2006
